Working From Home

A Little About Me

In 2001 I moved to a very rural area and found my employment options to be quite limited. Thus began my search to find a way to work online from my home. I was all over the place. I tried everything I could find and got scammed along the way.
Well, one day I came across a site that claimed to have legit work from home positions. I'm thinking, "yeah, right". I almost didn't sign up because I had to pay a membership fee to gain entrance.   But, I'm so glad I did. I don't remember what all was on that site but, that is where I found LiveOps.
I contracted with LiveOps from October 2003 to February 2009. For more than 5 years my sole source of income was from my independent contractor position with LiveOps!  In 2005 I moved 1500 miles across the country and when I moved into my new house, all I had to do was set up my internet and phone and I was working!
In November of 2008 I had decided that I needed to get out of the house.  I wanted to actually meet some people in this new state that I had now been residing in for more then 3 years. LOL I went into Nursing. And though I love working with and caring for the elderly and disabled, my body doesn't like it much.
So...... I am still working part time in nursing but, as of September 2013 I have renewed my contract with LiveOps.  As we work at homers say, "You should always have more then one egg in your work at home basket". You never know when it might get slow at one of your ops. Right now I'm signed on with LiveOps, MTURK, Amazon and a few others.  But, I've also tried ACD Direct (Good op but, I didn't work it much because I made more with LiveOps.), West, WestAtHome and TeleTech.
Now, what I'm giving you...... links to the sites that I use and trust, full of legitimate work at home jobs and some work at home forums where you will find tons of information. These forums are great because if you find an op that you're interested in, you can go to the forums and read the opinions and experiences of others and ask any questions you may have. These are not pay sites! They are free and open to the public. Started by people who figured out how to work from home. You are free to read the WAHM forum but, they do require that you sign up in order to post. The other you will have to log in. Again, for free. Not one penny! These are legit work at home opportunities. I receive no commissions or referral fee from any of these companies.
Some of these companies will ask you to pay for a background check, $50.00 to $65.00, but you shouldn't have to pay anyone to work for them. Usually the contractor positions will require you to pay for the background check and the hourly employee positions will pay for you. You are also required to supply your own equipment, computer, telephone, headset....ect.

Rat Race Rebellion

Do your due diligence.  Research a company before you apply or sign up.  These sites are legit but you never know what you might click on.   Crooks use clever schemes to defraud millions of people every year.

Google the company that you're interested in. Check the forums, Rip Off Report, Better Business Bureau, www.consumer.ftc.gov/scam-alerts‎, www.snopes.com/fraud/topscams.asp‎, ect......

*You must use caution when visiting these sites. Even though they contain a lot of legitimate information, they also lead to links to stuff that’s not legit. Be cautious about the sites and the ads you see and NEVER respond to check-cashing, wire transfer or Western Union related offers.
